She is a fan of quirky, character-driven Young Adult, and snort-out-loud Middle Grade adventure. She loves Historical and Fantasy and would like to find a steampunk that explores new settings and ideas beyond Victorian London. She is also interested in magical realism, high fantasy, mystery, and any combination of the above.

She is seeking: "I am most interested in representing Fantasy and Science Fiction in all its permutations - Adult, Middle Grade, Young Adult etc. I also look for Middle Grade and Young Adult contemporary stories and I'd be open to MG/YA mysteries and thrillers as well. I represent quite a few picture books and I'm always looking for those. In terms of adult books, I look for Literary Fiction, Historical Fiction, multicultural books, and I'd also consider adult mysteries, thrillers and psychological suspense, but not cozy mysteries. Pointers On Writing Good Dialog

My neighbor John loves to work on his hot rod. He's an automotive whiz and tells me he can hear when something is not quite right with the engine. He doesn't hesitate to pop the hood, grab his bag of tools and start to tinker. He'll keep at it until the engine sounds just the way he wants it to.

That's not a bad way to think about dialogue. We can usually sense when it needs work. What fiction writers often lack, however, is a defined set of tools they can put to use on problem areas.

Writing Resources

Dear Reader,

Happy Friday.

Today's post is all about studying. I am a strong believer in education. People have different interests in different fields, such as art, teaching, medicine, sports, engineering, business, and literature. Before attempting to do actual work in these fields, you must study them.

This rule goes for writing a book. We get ideas for writing a novel or nonfiction book, and we write it. When we're done we think we have created the greatest work of literature. Then when we send it to an agent, the agent says it is the worst book he or she ever read.

Before attempting to write you great idea into a story, study about the craft of writing. It is like learning how to write the alphabet before attempting to write your name.

Below are a list of books that teach the art of writing. I strongly suggest buying some or all of them. They can help you in your writing endeavors.
