Producer David Kohner Zuckerman started VPF after seeing how writers are often asked to pay high travel and pitch costs to participate in “live” events. VPF’s query fees are very minimal by comparison, while also providing Hollywood connectivity at the speed of the Internet.

On top of VPF’s swift platform, we’re very proud that site links have resulted in successes such asHallmark’s “Christmas Magic” and the feature “Raspberry Magic.” Plus, many other VPFers have signed script deals & found representation. Here are a few other recent success stories:

Ideally I need someone who is witty, passionate with animation, with kids and children's programming, with fantasy. The work will be a paid from any approved development funds or commission and based on the guidelines of Pact and Writers Guild of Great Britain; this can also be great opportunity for a breakthrough in the UK film industry. I would be grateful if you could email me your CV and any sample of your work to aliaxos@aol.com. SEEKING SHORT SCRIPT 2012.9.6 12:31
We are DoP/Director team, looking for a live action short script between 5-15 pages. Genre is not important. What counts is that it possesses something that is philosophical and existential, and deeply human. Plot should be interesting but secondary to an underlying, particular theme that is explored, and it would be preferable to have an open or interpretable ending rather than a moralistic, absolute one. Though we are open to meaningful quirkiness and irony, we're not interested in gimmicks, cleverness for the sake of cleverness, and prefer to read something that is personal and uncontaminated by commercial aims. If you have something that might apply, please submit a short paragraph synopsis as opposed to a logline, and not the entire script. But please only submit this synopsis to us if you have a completed script ready, as ideas and treatments on their own are not useful to us at this stage. And if you have more than one appropriate script, great, but please don't submit more than three different proposals. Submit to us at: massimo@theguys.net Pay info: not paid.

SCREENWRITING PARTNER FOR COLLABORATION 2012.9.5 05:52
I am looking for a screenwriter with a unique idea who would be interested in collaborating.  I have optioned a feature, had one short film produced, and another now in production.  I have also recently collaborated with an independent producer on a feature film.  I know how to structure and use subtext consistently in dialogue.  I would prefer finding someone with an outline or treatment ready for development, but I will consider starting from scratch if the idea is unique enough to generate industry interest.    I work in Final Draft and would need someone who has that software.  My preferences are dramas, mysteries, thrillers and suspense.  I don’t do horror or comedies.  This would be a 50-50 deal.  If you have something and are interested, please write to me at zipper1943@gmail.com.

LOOKING FOR PILOT WRITER 2012.9.4 09:13
I have an idea for a  dramedy television series, but I want somebody to write the pilot. Think PUSHING DAISIES meets GLEE with a hint of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA. Send your writing samples to Tim Bartow at baackflipcreator@aol.com under the subject line "pilot writer." Pay info: deferred agreement.

LOOKING FOR SITCOM WRITING PARTNER 2012.9.4 09:10
I've partially written a sitcom pilot, written paragraph summaries of other episodes, dialog for subsequent episodes. I've partially written character biographies. I've worked on this sitcom for several years, periodically. It's taken many forms. I had a writing partner. He took on too many things, and dropped the ball several times. What I'm looking for is a committed writing partner. Probably, I'm looking for a minimal commitment of two hours, on your time to write. Then two hours of us meeting and going over what we worked on - a scene, bio, ideas. So, I'm looking for a commitment of about four hours total a week. That's what I think, so far.  Also, I've got a few other things going on. So, I wouldn't mind committing to four hours a week, like i discussed above, for say, four months. Then pause for a month, and pick it back up for another three months, for example.  Since, I'd be sharing a lot of my writing so far, you'd have to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Commitment and loyalty matter to me. I want fresh eyes on the script - where you see I'm going with it, strengths, weaknesses. Then, I'd like to develop the script from there. Maybe you can send me a link to your work. And,  maybe you can share with me how cool of a guy you are to work with.  At the least, I want you to send me a full spec of a pre-existing show, a pilot, a web series, or a scene per act of the latter.)  I guess, to describe the sitcom I'm working on, would be a mixture of THE OFFICE, IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and SEINFELD. There's several offices involved - that's where three of the characters work. "Home" is a bar and Adam's condo. I've got the general story down. What I really need help on is the resolution. There's a theme, or undertone, of Seinfeld (language, dialog, innuendo's, scenarios). Feel free to ask me any questions. I may feel comfortable answering them via email or I may not. I may enter this into a contest - scriptapaloza, WB, etc. I may produce the pilot. I'm serious about seeing this through. I'm looking for the same in a partner.  Send your inquiries to me at sitcom28@gmail.com Please put, "Sitcom Writing Partner" in the subject line. Thanks.

LOOKING TO COLLABORATE WITH A FEMALE SCREENWRITER/WRITER 2012.9.3 08:53
Hello everyone! I am looking for either a female screenwriter or writer who would be very much interested in collaborating with me on a idea/story that I have for a feature film. Connections are a plus. We will collaborate on the screenplay together and bring it to a film producer/film company to bring it to life. If you are a screenwriter looking to write for a new feature film or looking for a new project to tackle or a writer that would like to dabble in the art of screenwriting here is your chance. This is a very original, very unique idea/story that will be a very fun experience to write and a nice addition to add to your resume. I guarantee you this is something you have not done or will ever do in the future. It's a horror/sci-fi/comedy film with B movie flair. It is a homage to 1950's and early 1960's drive in black and white movies with a modern take. I want to collaborate with somebody who I know will be willing to work with me on crafting this story, developing characters, writing dialogs and original scenes and importantly someone who will not plan to place this on a shelf to collect dust or make it a file rotting on a computer. Our goal is to work together to complete the script and make it our priority to have this script get turned into a movie. You must be 100 percent dedicated as I am and drive to do whatever it takes to get this made. We are and will be working on this screenplay together. I want to work with someone who will work with me on this and we do everything possible to get it made. We work as a team. No pay but you will get full credit as the co-writer. A few hours a week is all that you need to invest but communication is a must. You can work from home through e-mails but we must at least contact one another. This would be a great opportunity for those who are looking for a creative and inspiring project. Again, this is a collaborative project. If you are not dedicated, have no energy, not reliable, have a hectic schedule where you cannot commit to this and won't help get this screenplay green-light then please do not respond. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask me. Serious inquiries and those who have passion for writing apply. Please forward resumes to me at AmOdEStSoUl@aol.com.

SEEKING FREELANCE SCREENWRITERS 2012.8.31 08:31
Hesperidian Productions is currently recruiting freelance screenwriters to develop short and feature film scripts in collaboration with our Film department’s creative team. We are looking to produce narrative films that display strong storytelling and characterization, well-developed plot lines, fresh approaches to timeless themes and an original perspective.  Though we appreciate all writing styles and genres, at this time we are not accepting submissions for broad comedies. The writers will be paid by project and brought into an ongoing creative collaborative team as independent contractors. All scripts will be works for hire (if the idea developed comes from us) or will be bought (if we are interested in a script already developed by the writer). Payment is dependent on experience and project (therefore, the budget figure listed is not necessarily the fee that would be offered). For complete information and instructions on how to apply visit us at http://www.hesperidianproductions.com/about-us/opportunities/
